ANATOMY IN CLAY
The Salida Dance Studio will sponsor an ANATOMY IN CLAY workshop on THE KNEE, taught by Greg Gonzales, certified AIC Instructor from Denver, on Saturday November 14th from 12-3 pm at the Salida Dance Studio, 108 F St. Salida, CO.
This informative workshop is of great value to anyone wanting a more in-depth anatomical understanding of the human knee: athletes, physical therapists, pilates instructors, trainers, dancers, skiers, medical personnel, those considering knee surgery, or those with partial or full knee replacements.
A certified AIC instructor, Mr. Gonzales provides each participant with their own MANIKEN skeleton of a leg, and modeling clay. As he lectures on the anatomy of the knee, class participants will be directed to ‘build’ the soft connective tissue and muscles from the most internal to the top layer of tissue. He discusses aspects of motion/kinesiology and common injuries as well as injury prevention. In a relaxed atmosphere, participants can ask questions and discuss common concerns.
There will only be one workshop in Salida. For more detailed information, go to:

Zikr is Denver dance luminary David Taylor’s latest venture and one of the most exciting new dance companies in Colorado and the nation.
Using the finest ballet-trained dancers from Colorado’s front range, Zikr transports its audiences through time and space to preserve and present a spectrum of works that are based upon, or living replicas of, transcendent dance rituals from many different ancient world cultures throughout history.
The dances in performance are supplemented by stunning slide projections, enveloping the audiences in an experience that transcends time and place bringing everyone to a place of awe, inspiration and appreciation.
In just six short years, Zikr has established itself locally, regionally and nationally as a leading dance company that is not to be missed. Carissa Chen with 303 Magazine described the experience as, “a spiritual journey leaving you rejuvenated, intrigued, mind blown and, of course, beyond impressed.”
The Zikr Dance Ensemble’s 2015 season performance program is entitled “Invocation”. The program will feature Artistic Director David Taylor’s latest creations, “The Lady of the Lake”, a lush contemporary ballet based on Arthurian legends and Christian mysticism, and “Sadhu”, a stunning new contemporary work to the music of Philip Glass and based on the holy men of India and Tibet.
